Made by the award winning family-owned Distillerie Deinlein from their distillery in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty, the 8th Tribe Liqueurs are handcrafted from a 100% whey base.
Feijoas, originating from South America but brought to New Zealand in the 1920's, are an egg-shaped, green skinned fruit with cream-coloured flesh that encases a jelly-like centre. The flavour is complex, with sweet notes of quince, pineapple and mint.
8th Tribe Feijoa Liqueur is made by infusing the fruit with neutral spirit distilled from 100% whey and then small batch-distilled in a German-made copper still. The traditional form of the pot still and the skill of the distiller combine to yield a small amount of pure fruit essence - the natural flavours and aromas of the fruit.
The distillate is then aged for 6 months before being blended with spring water sourced from the distillery grounds and includes no artificial flavours or aromas. The 8th Tribe Feijoa Liqueur is then rested for a further few months before being bottled for sale.
Moscow Mule
- 60ml Blue Duck Rare Vodka
- Fever-Tree Ginger Beer
- Lime wedges
Method: Add vodka to an ice-filled copper mug, top with ginger beer and squeeze two lime wedges in. Garnish with a mint prig. Enjoy!
Dry Martini
- 60ml Black Robin Rare Gin
- 5ml Dry Vermouth
- Olive
Method: Fill a martiniglass with ice, pour in the dry vermouth and stir. Pour the Black Robin Rare Gin into an ice-filled mixing glass and stir well. Discard the martini glass contents and pour in the gin. Garnish with a single olive. Enjoy.
